Meet the 2015/2016 Interns
AGPAL/QIP very generously hosted two participants for the inaugural Internship. These interns engaged heavily in social media to update followers on their progress.
Girish Swaminathan Girish is chief pharmacist at Bega Valley Health Service in New South Wales, Australia. Girish holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree, a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, a Diploma in Management, and he is currently undertaking a Master's in Health Services Management. He has 14 years of experience, and has worked in different countries including India and Oman. Girish is interested in areas such as health services research, clinical leadership, and patient safety and quality. He is also passionate about improving healthcare standards in regional and rural areas. He holds the ISQua Fellowship Certificate of Achievement.
Dr. Farahat holds a degree in Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery (M.B.B.Ch) from Mansoura University, Mansoura, Egypt, and has earned several diplomas and professional certifications related to health care management and patient safety such as a Diploma in Total Quality Management in Healthcare, a Diploma in Health Organizations Management, a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), a Patient Safety Certificate, a Certification in Healthcare Quality (CHQ), IOSH Managing Safely for Healthcare Professional Certificate, he is a Certified Quality Management System Lead Auditor, and The Professional Certificate in Nosocomial Infection Control. Dr. Farahat was working as quality manager at the National Guard Health Affairs, Al Ahsa, Saudi Arabia from March 2009 to April 2013. Currently, he is working as a surveyor for the Qatari Accreditation, Healthcare Quality & Patient Safety Department, Ministry of Public Health, Doha, Qatar.
