Educational Site Visits are available to conference delegates.They will take place on Thursday 5th October 2017. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Registration for the education site visits is open from September 6th.

Educational Site Visit

  • Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust

    The visit will take place on Thursday Morning 5th October and will finish by lunchtime. 

    Great Ormond Street Hospital was the winner of the Patient Safety in Paediatrics Award at the HSJ and Nursing Times 2013 Patient Safety and Care Integration Awards.

    It will be an interactive session which will showcase approximately eight Quality Improvement projects from various departments within the Trust. The morning will include a networking coffee break.

  • The Royal College of Physicians

    The visit will take place on Thursday morning 5th October and run from 10 – 1pm with lunch and refreshments included. The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) is the professional membership body for physicians, with over 32,000 members and fellows across the globe.

    Everything that we do at the RCP aims to improve patient care and reduce illness. We are patient centred and clinically led, and drive improvement in the diagnosis of disease, the care of individual patients and the health of the whole population, both in the UK and across the globe. It will be an interactive morning which will showcase the vast breadth of the work of the RCP, including our Quality Improvement work.

    The session will also include a tour of the RCP premises in London taking in the history of this, the oldest medical college in England – Founded in 1518 by a Royal Charter from King Henry VIII – and the Grade I listed building designed by renowned architect Sir Denys Lasdun (1914–2001) which is widely considered a modernist masterpiece and one of London’s most important post-war buildings.

  • Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust

    The visit will take place on Thursday 5th October from 10:00 - 14:00. 

    “Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is a large, old (> 800 years) Central London teaching hospital and is part of the local  Academic Medical Centre (King’s Health Partners)"

    The visit will be a series of short talks from 10:00 - 12:30 where we will cover a review of patient safety and improvement practice in the UK NHS including the development of Patient Safety Collaborative with  examples of local quality  improvement and development programmes run by the hospital .

    The visit will end with lunch and a tour of the hospital, with photo opportunities of Parliament and the statues of Florence Nightingale and Queen Vic.
