I used to be anxious and wondered why journals took forever in publishing my manuscripts when submitted. I did not understand. Neither did I understand why some of my manuscripts were rejected. I didn’t understand what form of considerations went into accepting particular manuscripts for publications either. But now I do… my journey as an ISQua Editorial Apprentice has provided me with increased clarity.

The International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) and Oxford University Press (OUP), are seeking applications for the position of Deputy Editor for the International Journal for Quality in Health Care (IJQHC). The Deputy Editor will champion research content for the IJQHC.

IJQHC Communications (IJCOMS) is an open-access, peer-reviewed, international journal that publishes research related to quality and safety in health care, with a focus on implementation science, for a worldwide readership.  Expressions of interest are now being invited for multiple Section Editors, with duties to commence on 1st April 2022. 

Officially, ISQua was born in Udine, Italy on 29 June 1985 in connection with a World Health Organization (WHO) Working Group on Training in Quality Assurance. The founding fathers were the participants of this Working Group. The idea of an international society devoted to quality assurance in health care was, however, born much earlier – arguably in Kuopio, Finland on a beautiful April evening in 1977, the same year I was born.
