This annual report details the activities undertaken by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) from September 2019 to October 2020.

As I hand the President responsibilities over to Jeffrey Braithwaite, I pause to reflect on my 3 years as President. 

After decades participating at multiple levels within the International Society for Quality in Health Care, I am both delighted and humbled to be taking over the role of President this month from Wendy Nicklin.

This is the third session offering an overview of the knowledge that underpins the coproduction of healthcare service. This session will focus on developing an understanding of the second stream of knowledge: the “as is” system journey that must be navigated by patients and professionals.

Post-pregnancy family planning (PPFP) focuses on the prevention of unintended and closely spaced pregnancies in the first 12 months post pregnancy (irrespective of pregnancy outcome) and is considered a life-saving intervention for mothers and their children. Post-pregnancy women are among those populations with the greatest unmet need for family planning (FP), yet they often do not receive the information and services they need to prevent unintended pregnancies.
