Every year, World Antimicrobial Awareness Week aims to increase awareness of global antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and to encourage best practices among the general public, health workers, and policymakers to stop the further emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections.

Over the next 10 years, the World Health Organization (WHO), its global partners and its Member States will be working tirelessly to help all people of the world to have access to health services. As per the mandate of World Health Assembly resolution WHA72.6 (May 2019): “Towards Zero Patient Harm in Health Care: Global Patient Safety Action Plan 2021-2030” (First Draft, August 2020) is now open for public consultation.

Health Worker Safety: A Priority for Patient Safety. WHO will observe World Patient Safety Day on 17 September 2020 and launch a global campaign to emphasize the importance of health worker safety as a priority for patient safety.
