IKAS Accreditation Data Archive

Preserving 17 years of Danish quality-of-care evidence for future healthcare research.

What Are IKAS & DDKM?

IKAS – Institut for Kvalitet og Akkreditering i Sundhedsvæsenet – ran Denmark’s national accreditation scheme, DDKM (Den Danske Kvalitetsmodel), from 2005 to 30 June 2022.

When the programme ended, the institute was formally dissolved.

To keep this hard-won evidence working for patient care, IKAS transferred its full accreditation database to ISQua for long-term stewardship.

Why Review IKAS Data?

  • National Scope: Every public- and private-sector survey carried out under DDKM
  • Longitudinal Depth: Multi-cycle ratings show how organisations improved over time
  • Rich Detail: Site location, survey dates, final status, and criterion-level scores (including Danish rationales where standards were not met)

What’s Inside Each Record?

  • Geographical region of the organisation
  • Survey date + any follow-up visit
  • Accreditation status awarded after each visit
  • Rating for every criterion (Met / Partly Met / Not Met) with explanatory text in Danish

Data is delivered as Excel spreadsheets.

How Were Ratings Assigned?

Survey teams scored each measurable element. Those scores rolled up into criterion ratings, which in turn determined the overall accreditation status. Detailed rating rules appear in the Introduction chapter of every standards manual; several provider groups also have standalone rating guides (all manuals are in Danish, editions marked * are additionally available in English).

How Can I Request Access?
