Are you interested in becoming a Board Member of ISQua?
Do you know of someone whom you would like to propose as a Board Member of ISQua (the person may or may not be a member of ISQua presently)?
The International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) calls for nominations to join its international Board of Directors. ISQua is a global organization committed to promoting and improving the quality and safety of healthcare worldwide.
As part of our continuous efforts to enhance our impact, we will be appointing five dynamic individuals who will bring diverse perspectives, valuable expertise, and unwavering dedication to our mission.
Roles and Responsibilities:
All Board members are volunteers, and there is no payment for membership of the ISQua Board.
As an ISQua Board Member, you will be vital in providing strategic guidance and oversight to our organization. We are looking for Board members who can add to the Board’s experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Inspiring Change: ISQua operates under the tagline Network – Knowledge – Voice – Action. We must be able to inspire and engage members, stakeholders, and other participants in our present activities to take action independently.
- Strengthening Education: Collaborate with fellow Board Members to enhance our educational initiatives.
- Global Perspective: Offer strategic advice to meet the unique needs of healthcare systems in LMICs, promoting inclusivity and accessibility in quality and patient safety initiatives.
- Advisory Services: To support ISQua's consultancy and advisory services, ensuring they remain effective and impactful.
You will be required to attend Board meetings remotely, with up to two Board meetings held in person each year. Expenses to attend the onsite Board meetings will be covered in accordance with ISQua’s relevant policies.
The term of office is three years, and appointed members can reapply for a consecutive second term.
As an ISQua Board member, you will also become a member and Board Member of ISQua EEA, which manages and delivers ISQua’s International Accreditation Programme and Standards Recognition Programme.
Requirements:
We are seeking candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Skills and Expertise in the above areas: Candidates with backgrounds in quality and patient safety are preferred. Expertise in board work, executive management and corporate governance is desirable but not mandatory.
- Geographic Diversity: Candidates from all countries will be considered. By Irish legislation, at least two Board Members must be Irish residents; these will be found among the members that will be appointed.
Persons who are not currently members of ISQua can be nominated but must – as is the case for all nominees – be supported by two ISQua members in good standing.
How to Apply:
To be considered for an appointed position on the ISQua Board, please complete the application form and include your named nominators who are ISQua Members in good standing.
If appointed to the Board, you must join ISQua as a member.
Applications should be submitted by 24th October 2023. Successful candidates will take up their appointment (subject to approval at the Annual General Meeting) on 17th January 2024.
A list of all current members can be found in our People Directory in our Community Dashboard. Please note that access to the directory is only available to Individual and Institutional Members.
ISQua is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion on its Board and welcomes nominations from all qualified individuals regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, or age.
Join us in shaping the future of quality and patient safety worldwide. Together, we can make a significant and lasting impact on global healthcare standards.
