Principles of Person-Centred Care

This course offers learners a panoply of key global perspectives and evidence-based initiatives in the field of person-centred care, which can then be used to improve patient experience, engagement and satisfaction. It covers areas such as governance, design, culture, advocacy, research and transparency of data.

Who is this course for?

This course is for individuals or organisations who seek to improve the delivery of person-centred care across all settings, as well as quality officers, quality and patient safety managers, improvement advisors/consultants and quality specialists, and patient-centred care advocates whose prime focus includes the planning and implementation of person-centred care.

What our learners say

"My motivation for taking the ISQua Principles of Person-Centred Care course wasn’t to be convinced of the benefit of patient engagement, but rather to explore how to put in place a structure and framework to make patient engagement our new operational system. I found this and beyond in this course.

From the webinars sharing experiences lived in different places in the world, I was inspired to work relentlessly in our organisation on helping foster patient engagement as part of the clinical practice and decision-making, not only to enhance value but restore dignity.
All webinars were very useful in enhancing the learning, giving the tools and also the feel of how successful engagement looks like. Having a personal interest in human factors and system design, the value-based co-design model is something I intend to suggest as a basis for patient engagement framework in our organisation."
Nawal Khattabi, Director of Risk Management and Patient Safety, Primary Health Care Corporation, Qatar

Fundamentals of External Evaluation Surveying

This course provides a critical insight into numerous assessment methodologies, approaches and techniques that constitute the various stages of the surveying process.

Who is this course for?

This course is an essential starting point for individuals seeking to launch their career as a surveyor; existing surveyors who wish to develop and broaden their knowledge from an international perspective; and "in-house" experts or project managers who are responsible for assisting their organisation through the accreditation process.

Completion of this course does not qualify an individual to work as an ISQua surveyor, nor does it qualify an individual to work as a surveyor with an external evaluation organisation. Individuals interested in becoming a surveyor should contact an external evaluation organisation directly to learn about the requirements to become a surveyor with their programme.

What our learners say

"The ISQua Specialist Programme on Fundamentals of External Evaluation (FEES Programme) is well designed and provides an excellent overview of the external evaluation surveying. What I learned from the FEES programme will guide me in my professional life as a surveyor in every step of the evaluation process in which I will be involved. I believe the knowledge I acquired will help me advise hospitals directly on their quality improvement beyond just the evaluation process.
With the help of the FEES, I can now provide more structured advice for hospitals globally. To illustrate, FEES taught me how to assess hospitals more effectively, develop a more solid relationship with key people in the health care organisations, be prepared for unexpected conflicts, and even give feedback to the hospitals, including how to write a good report.
The copious examples that the FEES programme has provided me will undoubtedly play a role as templates guiding the hospitals to better healthcare."
Dr Heon-Jae Jeong, President, The Care Quality Institute
